Ridgellea Friesian Horse Stud is dedicated to
breeding quality purebred Friesian horses, and to
date we have had good successes with the the use of
imported semen from Dutch Studbook stallions. This
has resulted in some beautiful foals from our mares Lentebloem and Feikje.
Here is an introduction to our foals.
MARCO:
Sire: Wikke 404
Marco was our first Friesian foal, born in Holland
to our mare Lentebloem, his Sire is Studbook
Stallion Wikke 404.
As a very young colt he showed the conformation and
movement desired by every Friesian breeder.
Before making the long trip to New Zealand with his
mother, Marco was shown before the Keuring Judges
(classification judges) and was awarded 1e premie.
This is the highest classification that a foal can
receive, and proved that Marco was something
special.

SJAARD:
Sire: Feitse 293
Sjaard was the second Colt born to Ridgellea
Friesian Stud, and the 1st Friesian foal
born in New Zealand to artificial insemination. His
mother is our mare Feikje, and Sjaard was her first
foal. Sjaard’s Sire is Studbook Stallion Feitse 293.

It
was with extreme sadness that Ridgellea stud family
lost our beautiful 15 month old filly Tjitske to
complications following emergency colic surgery
early in 2008. Her absence has left a big hole in
the hearts of all that came to know her and those of
us that worked with her and loved her so very much.
TJEERD:
Sire: Ludse 305
Tjeerd is our first NZ born foal by artificial
insemination to our 1e premie mare Lentebloem. He is
a son of Studbook Stallion Ludse 305. He has
powerful, yet floating movement and the show-off
quality of his mother, and will excel in dressage
like his father.

YANOS: Sire Feitse293
Yanos is the
Third foal born to the pairing of Feikje and stud
book stallion Feitse 293.
He is a very
cheeky little colt and just like his mother, if
there is trouble anywhere Yanos is right in the
middle of it all.
Yanos has
beautiful movement and a very noble head carriage
and struts around as the born show off he really is.
